Just a little something to keep in mind when deciding which Stop & Shop store to shop at for certain deals (if you have more than one to choose from in your area).
If your Stop & Shop has a gas station, those stores have been giving points for gas in place of "instant off money" deals. For instance, there is a deal in their flyer this week that if you buy 3 Hallmark cards you get $5 off your shopping trip instantly. You will not receive that $5 off but rather you will receive gas points which will print out at the register and be loaded to your card for cents off per gallon at their participating gas stations.
I have had this happen twice now at the Stop & Shop in 44 Plaza Poughkeepsie (which has a gas station) but it did not happen for a friend of mine at the Hyde Park and Rhinebeck stores (which do not have gas stations).
******* UPDATE: Cynthia confirmed that she did the Hallmark deal at the Wappingers Falls store and did receive the instant savings at that store *******
